Underneath is the CertainTeed Integrity Roofing System. CertainTeed requires WinterGuard ice and water shield to be installed over a clean, dry roof deck, not on top of old roofing material, so our crew installed new decking in the areas that needed it. Then 5½ feet of WinterGuard went down at all eave edges and around every roof penetration, with RoofRunner synthetic felt over the balance of the roof deck. With so many skylights on this house, that step mattered: every skylight was reflashed, with WinterGuard applied around its entire perimeter.
CertainTeed ridge vent was installed along the ridges to let warm, moist air exhaust from the attic, and two bathroom exhaust vents were hooked up. At the chimney, our crew built a saddle on the uphill side to direct water around it and installed a new chimney flashing kit. New pipe boots went on the plumbing vents, and the vent pipes were painted Espresso to blend with the roof. Light Bronze T-metal drip edge finishes the roof edges.
