Complete roof replacement on a ranch home in Niles, MI with CertainTeed NorthGate shingles in Heather Blend (45 squares). Installed as a CertainTeed Integrity Roofing System: 5½ ft of WinterGuard ice and water shield at all eave edges and around all roof penetrations, with RoofRunner synthetic underlayment over the balance of the roof deck. Because CertainTeed requires WinterGuard to go over a clean, dry roof deck, never on top of old roofing material, we did a partial redeck with new ½” OSB in the areas where it was needed. The project also included CertainTeed ridge vent, a new chimney saddle and flashing kit, new pipe boots with painted soil pipes, and brown drip edge.
