Dennison Roofing & Gutter Toppers recently completed a complete gutter, gutter protection and trim project on a brick ranch home in Berrien Springs, MI. The homeowners wanted to stop cleaning clogged gutters, keep water away from the foundation and replace worn trim with something that would never need paint again.

New Seamless Gutters and Downspouts

We removed the old gutters and installed 245 ft of new 5″ seamless aluminum gutters in Desert Tan, with seven 2×3 downspouts (84 ft) and two B1 diverters where valleys empty onto the gutter. Seamless gutters are formed on site to the exact length of each run, so there are no joints along the run to leak.

Underground Drains

To move roof water away from the house, we dug trenches and connected four downspouts to new underground drains. Water that used to pour out beside the foundation is now carried out into the yard.

Gutter Topper Solution Gutter Guards

We topped the new gutters with Gutter Topper’s Solution gutter guards in Royal Brown, the color that best matches the shingles. Solution is made of .019 aluminum and is part of the only gutter cover line — Gutter Topper, Needle Guard, Leaf Terminator and Solution — that passed two independent agencies’ tests for no clogging, torrential rain, 110 mph winds and 1,200 lbs per sq ft of snow load. Roofing manufacturers have also certified in writing that its unique installation won’t harm or void the roof warranty.

Vented Aluminum Soffit and Wrapped Fascia

Around the house and porch we installed new Wicker aluminum soffit, with vented panels every 5 ft for steady attic intake airflow, and wrapped the fascia in matching Wicker aluminum. The result is a clean, low-maintenance finish that won’t peel, rot or need painting.
